I Want Your Face!
In fact I want a lot of people’s faces.
As an artist I have these moments where I see a person, a random person, walking down the street, and I like their face, and I want to ask them if I can have a few photographs of it. Of course I never do because it would be very creeper like of me, but I still want to really bad.
All the interesting faces reference photos I have are British actors (American actors all look the same), and even with them there isn’t enough variation in the female faces to make me happy.
I am a creeper.
I don’t know what’s gotten into me. I can’t seem to do anything but draw Tintin fan art.
Here we have Tintin and Snowy walking across a page.
Brushes from here, texture and paper from here.
Fiddling around in photoshop.
Arkive has references for animals you never knew you wanted to draw, like Leopard Seals.
Characters are fun.
When I make characters I like to start with one and then make it some foils, that way everyone is different and the conflict keeps going. And conflict is half the story, at least.
I am in love with this man. Too bad for me, he was probably gay (not that there’s anything wrong with that), and has been dead almost a hundred years.
His writing here. makes me love him more. Too bad the complete text of his book is almost impossible to get ahold of.
Also, I want to wear his coat.
My love is so unrequited :(
Days off!!!!!!11!
I have them!
Seriously, I’ve been waiting all semester for this.
Work has been crazy. I’ve been training new people, never getting out on time, having a sinus infection, and losing much of my voice. Now I am free for three days.
I am going to draw a lot.
:D
The Oscar Wilde caricature I drew for Humorous Illustration.
Finals are over and I can stop the insanity.
This is a terrible, terrible photo (taken with a webcam, no less), of my lovely caricature of Oscar Wilde. For some reason I didn’t hate this drawing when I got it back, I actually liked it better.
When I get home I’ll take a proper photo to post.
:)
Back from Class
I just got home from class and I have to draw tons of things in the next four days. I think I’ll put some here when I’m done with them. They will all be tea related, I’m making a tea website for my final project in my dreamweaver class. There will be a comic on making loose leaf tea. It’s going to be awesome—at least I hope so.
Hullo
I am an art student at a community college, working as hard as I can to someday get a scholarship to go to a much larger art school.
I like books, cats, science, Edwardians, Victorians, tea, and comics.
I will probably talk about webcomics, books, art, doodles, awesome, science, clothing, weird, and Tintin (I am so excited for the movie) in the days to come.
Hi!
